Exactly! Amazing how a few coupe owners fist pound and want to argue about how much better and more sensible their choice is. It is a personal choice and nothing more. No need to crap on some one elses party. To each his own where the Coupe and HTC are both good depending on one's desires.

thank you all for your comments. I never meant to argue about which was better here. they are both AMAZING cars in my opinion but I use mine as a daily driver and I am so picky about mine and the coupe just doesn't work for me with the weather elements so I went to the HTC now and I was just asking others opinions here. I hope everyone loves and enjoys theirs. no argument from me on either. both are amazing rides.

much love to all

I hope I'm not lumped in with that. I had deposits at 2 local dealers for a '23 HTC when I bought my coupe. I waited about a month or so after getting it home before I pulled back my HTC deposits/orders. It was more about the color for me. It wasn't a coupe vs. HTC thing. Chevy discontinued the Caffiene brown about month or so after my orders were placed. If they'd been able to get me that new HTC in Caffeine, that's what would probably be in my garage. I think they're both awesome

You see complexity. I see functionality.
You see problems. I see enjoyment.

Retractable hardtops have been in production since the 1950s! I've owned a MX-5 HTC and now own a C8 HTC, and absolutely love both. Car continues to operate flawlessly; including the HTC itself.

My first Vette when I was a kid was a C4 ragtop, and that was great car as well.

Is the HTC mechanism considered to be problematic? Many of us see the HTC as a great idea vs the PIA removal and reinstallation of the Coupe roof panel. My last 4 Corvettes were Coupes and I almost never removed that panel. Maybe I'm just lazy but would not even consider a Coupe now that the HTC is available for the C8. Huge step forward.

No, just people proving an impossible point. Like saying it’s a PIA to remove the coupe roof panel… But then I’ve never taken it off my C8 and the C8 I think weighs half what my C4 and C6 did.

I can only speak to my experience.
Having owned an 82 (t-tops), C5 and C6 coupes over the years, I can count on one hand the number of times I have removed the top and taken the car out for any extended drive. I've owned my HTC for 3 months now and have easily had the top down more than that.
To be honest, I have never owned a true convertible in my 50 years of owning a car - the HTC is a game changer for me.

I have owned numerous Corvette Coupes with the removable roof panel and have no doubt and need no convincing about it being a PIA to remove and replace the damn awkward thing to the point that you eventually stop removing it as MANY others here have stated.
HTC=Game changer as stated above.

Owned a 2021 coupe but now have a 2024 HTC. Never was a rag top person but the retractable hardtop I really like. Looks good up or down with the press of a lever and no loss of space in the trunk, can put the golf clubs in the back with the top down.

Had an HTC Benz SLK350 since 2005 and enjoyed the HTC for 15 years. When speccing the C8, I gallantly asked GF if there was anything she wanted:
She deleted Z51 and that deleted the rear spoiler (but gave me A/S tires.)
She deleted HTC. (Messes hair.)
She changed color from Red to Blue (Red clashed with her skin tone)
She also deleted 3LT that I needed for some fantasy color combination.
She changed seats to GT1 stating I was too fat for GT2 (I am not)

Turns out I am very happy with her choices.... At least that's what she tells me.
On the plus side if she is in the car; no one looks at the car at all. (Supermodel)
