Additional question, I thought shift lights also appear in an outer ring when in non tach display mode specifically when using the MPH display. Yes/No?
I don't know. After reading the manual which seems to say which displays will host the shift lights, I searched for images of C8 shift lights to find out what they look like. The three with "rings" are clips from a video that was on this forum, the one with the digital tach also came from a post on this forum. And the photo of the HUD is mine. I didn't find any others but that does not mean there aren't any.

No, he's talking about something completely different. Put your IP in sport mode and acclerate hard and you'll see what he's talking about.

By MPH display do you mean Tour Mode display? The rings don't appear there. Only in Sport Mode, and in Track mode with the digital tach.

Default update - HUD shift lights are in color

In post 18 I attached photos of the shift lights. At the time I was not certain that the HUD shift light are in color. They are! They light green, yellow and red as RPM increases.

Uh, can you point us to where in the owner's manual that the details of how the shift lights work are explained?

Did you read post 18? The manual tell you which display include shift lights, but the manual does not explain how they work, and does not say that the HUD display will light in colors. Search it for yourself and see if you can find where it actually explains how the light work or the colors used. In post 18, I showed the various forms of the shift lights - they are not illustrated in the manual. But I was not certain that the HUD used color for that. If you already knew that, its because you have seen it on your display.
