Yes, bad install. My XPEL dealer just replace a panel that had a small area release from the car. Looked like a small wart. The original install was done nine years ago. I think I have a great dealer. This was done on my wife's 2014 C7.

Sounds good, I can try another installer if I'm getting nowhere with this one. I had a separate ceramic coat done by the same installer. Will XPEL warranty cover that too?

Here is a picture of the line you can see. It doesn't go under the hood.

Warranties on ceramic coatings are useless, and the PPF warranty is not much better. It really comes down to finding a shop that will continue to support and stand by their quality of work for the PPF. It's rare that a failure is caused by the material itself in a way that Xpel will cover costs. Any issues tend to be deemed to be installer error, or aren't covered due to being outside of the scope of the warranty/within the limitations of films in general.

For the ceramic, you are going to have to continue to apply your own additional "refresh" products to keep the hydrophobic properties going for the long term. Typically the detailer will also offer 6 month or annual refresh applications themselves for about the price of a normal exterior detail ($200-300 IME) if you don't want to manage that process yourself.

If you run into further issues after their crappy patch fix, and they don't resolve, I would just plaster the images all over Google/Yelp/Facebook/Forums/Reddit etc.

The good installers have a great deal of pride in their work and like to maintain happy customers and impeccable portfolios, because it makes them a boatload of cash and keeps the customer base steady. They also tend to charge premium prices.

Totally disagree. XPEL absolutely stands behind their product and their certified installers, On my C7, I had XPEL installed by the NCM (they used an outfit out of Nashville). The installation was terrible. Xpel gave me the name of a local installer and paid to have him remove all of the PPF and reinstall. The new installer did an excellent job. Zero additional cost out of my pocket.
