The convertible top on my 2023 HTC is refusing to operate. The tonneau cover is will not open and obviously the top will not work as well. After two days at the dealership, they called to say they have the part (replacement motor) but cannot get the car open so they can replace it. They are now waiting to hear from Chevrolet on what needs to be done to get the tonneau cover open. Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas on what needs to be done to get the cover to open?
My top would not operate when I took it in to the dealer for an oil change. Was cold outside and temperature sensor stuck at 17*. Service manager had to reprogram the temperature sensor and then the top worked. GM has a range of operation on the top from just above freezing to something above 100* to prevent damage to the top/car. Maybe your problem is related? Or the oil fill rubber cover inside is out of position and prevention operating. No idea how you fix that.
Just got the car back. Per the repair order, there is a way to get access cover described in DOC #6040720 and the problem was the striker latch sensor and not the motor.

I was not able to find DOC #6040720 either and don't even know what DOC means. This document shows a special "Labor Operation" number (6086008) that appears to be directly related to the striker adjustment issue but the numerical similarity could be coincidental.
This document references a method of getting access to the plug, but does not actually give the method. If anyone has access to a service manual they may be able to look it up.
"The cause of the condition may be that the body side frame access hole plug may not have been seated properly. This may lead to the plug interfering with B373 Folding Top Side Rail - Roof Panels Stowed Sensor.
Note: The body side frame access hole plug must be fully seated whenever the plug is removed.
Correction
1. First gain access to the body side frame access hole plug. Refer to Opening the Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid — Engine Access section within Folding Top and Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Operation in the Service Manual.
2. Inspect the body side frame access hole plug to assure it is fully seated."
