I'm at a red light and I get the red-light challenge, what performance tactics do most use? Simply which to your preset Z-Mode and floor it, paddle shift or let the transmission auto shift?
Setting up launch mode takes too long, not a practical option!
Certainly, only if it's safe and no one else is on the road.

If you have a 2024 there is also a manual launch described, that sounds similar to double paddle declutch and can also be accessed quickly. Again, for track use.
Thanks
I do not respond to a red light challenge with aggressive acceleration. Rather I just give a smile and a wave. And move on.
In a safe track situation, you can set up and execute a "rapid exit" fairly quickly. The double paddle declutch section in the manual describes that. But I would not do that in response to a red light challenge.
So far that's pretty much what I have done, unless they look like a worthy opponent !

The more worthy the opponent, the more unsafe the unfolding action on the street will be.
Why even entertain some idiot who wants to street race. There are tracks and drag strips to do that. Everyone thinks not going to happen to me and the next thing that happens is a crash or worse. No need to become a statistic.
Rev my engine a little, watch the light turn green and then laugh as I watch them streak off!
Yep that is what I do! Had a friend when In high school that took it one step further! If we were in the right lane and planning going straight, he would rev the engine and when the other car took off would make a right turn!
MOPAR's and mustangs are the worst. Every kid with one thinks they are the fastest thing on the street. Actual street racing is way too dangerous with all the traffic now days. To ignore is the best policy for you and him.

FWIW, in my 2024 Z51 with MSRC it only takes two seconds to enter launch mode. Press the Z mode button twice (to get into PTM) and you're good to go. All that's left is to depress the brake, depress the gas, then let go of the brake.
