I have a 24 stingray 1Lt coupe. I got a flat this morning and was fortunate to be about a mile
from a Discount tire shop. The guy there said he was surprised my car didn’t have run flats (I was as well)
is not true that all C8’s come with them? Maybe just my poverty spec car didn’t. I bought a small compressor I’ll leave in the frunk in case this happens again.
All Corvettes since at least the C6 generation come from the factory with run-flats. The C8s come with Michelin tires, either PS A/S, PS4s or with the Z Cup2Rs if Z07 package. Michelin calls their run flats ZP tires.
Dang!, ... Guy works at a Major Tire Shop, and doesn't know Run Flats when he sees them!!! ... RUN FOREST, ... RUN !!!
Discount Tire is privately owned by one family. They have >1100 stores in 38 states. But as any store they are staffed by folks they hire!
Our local DT store moved to town ~2017. Recall since I bought Tire Insurance for my 2017 Grand Sport when the car was a week old, soon after it opened. Fortunately never had to use it.
Bought tire insurance for my Wife's new 2018 BMW X5 SUV. It way more than paid for itself as she had two nails near sidewall and got two new tires. Also had two reparable Flats
Bought insurance for my 2020 C8, and needed one rear rear tire and one flat fixed," Free To Me."
Bought for the wife's 2022 BMW X5 SUV. Needed new rear tire within a few months, one tire plug/patched,
Bought DT Tire Insurance week one for my 2024 E-Ray. Had two tires with nails Plug/Patched and a rear requiring a new $650 tire (I have the ZER Option summer tires)
Bought insurance week one for my wife's 2025 X5 SUV PHEV. So far luckily no nails!
Our Discount Tire Store Has Very Knowledgeable Folks. Have done great work and not dinged a wheel. Now I use a method to get their best folks to work on my Vettes. I ask the store manager for his "Best Tech" and tell him I will give a $20 tip for no wheel dings or marks! All have gotten the Tip. Not easy changing wide low profile run flats as my E-Ray 345's on 13 inch wide rims!

Also the C5 generation with the exception of the 2001 to 04 C5Z06 which did not.
It’s a smart move to buy a small air compressor. I also believe that ZP tires aren’t supposed to be driven over 50 miles before it’s repaired. When you can run to Walmart and pick up a boot kit. That may buy you more miles until you can have it repaired.

50 miles at zero pressure, although many have gone much further than that. If it's a slow leak, so the tire has some pressure, you can drive much further than that.

I blew tire at the track and had to limp back roads all the way home when I couldn't find a tire place en route that had anything in stock. It was a very very long and slow 4 hour 120 mile drive, but I made it. First time I ever needed to make use of run flats.

Yep BUT quoting: "Michelin recommends not repairing run-flat tires that have been driven at zero pressure as driving on a flat run-flat tire can cause internal structural damage that may not be visible during inspection, making it unsafe to repair."
I keep a small, inexpensive compressor in the Frunk in case the pressure gets lower than say 25 psi I'll increase to ~35 psi until I bring the tire to Discount Tire to be repaired.
2016 Z51 wife's daily driver. Now has 90k miles. Over the past 9 years I have had 2 flats. Both a nail or screw in main tread. I have plugged both myself with tires lasting until tread required replacement. On trips I carry a tire plug kit, compressor and jack. Very hard to press in plug so tire removal is best.

Similar experience at Tire Kingdom. Asked about road insurance policy on run flat tires. Guy said once a run flat has had a puncture it’s no longer a run flat.
