The cloths that come with it are of much higher quality, and you can use a "paint stick" type extension handle. (standard broom stick threads)
Be sure to use quality chemicals as well ... i.e Adams, Invisible glass, Griots, Sprayaway, etc. .
That said, .... One year I asked my sister for WURTH glass cleaner as I have heard it is "the best". She bought it for me, but then had dirty windows in her apartment. She didn't have anything else so she tried this stuff. She then refused to give it to me. .. I have others on my above list so haven't had a chance to try it yet.

My problem was not the cloth or the application tool, it was the cleaner.
I tried Invisible Glass and it seems to work better than several other brands .
It is hard to get perfect and I have tried many many times.
This windshield is not as easy as everyone says, for me it is hard to do.
I use windshieldwow.com with Sprayway Cleaner. Cleans inside and outside at the same time.
Similar to above, however more expensive.
A little learning curve to get efficient with it, worth the effort.
Anything works better than a rag and cleaner.

As far as the rags go I bought these Amazon and they have been night and day to anything else I've ever used. And I just use Sprayway glass cleaner. I have to turn myself into a contortionist to physically clean the window though
I have taken my daily driver to a car wash where they do the inside windows, door edges ..... right after the car wash. The windows never had streaks on them, sooooo I ask what they use. He handed me the wet wash rag.. terry cloth and I smelt it. Huum no smell!!! .. He said it's water!!!. His process was to use the wash rag.. damp not dripping wet first, then go over it with another bone dry terry cloth. He would wipe the dry rag for a while.
So that is what I use on my C8 and no streaks. Now I don't smoke in the car, that might be a different story.
That Invisible Glass kit at Amazon, Same tool can be had at Dollar Tree. Also try DT 'Amazing Glass Cleaner with Vinegar'
Try it. For $2.50 you get the whole kit.
Pro tip, I take the roof off when cleaning the interior of the windshield and back glass. Regardless of what tool or rag you use this makes it such an easier task. I am tall with long arms so can basically do the whole windshield from standing on the each side.
Glass will always be the only thing about auto detailing I hate.
This works the best of any product I have found. 1 or maybe 2 applications of this a year will be the only time you clean inside glass.
You can't see the glaze but it keeps dirt, smoke, plastic gassing etc from attaching to the front, side or back glass.
Excellent on my car and truck and the top half of my C8's windshield, now if I had arms 3 1/2 feet long and hands the size of a small monkey it would also be great for the bottom half!
Over the years I have tried everything, including most of the methods advised in this forum. Here is what I recently discovered.
1. clean windshield and other interior glass with any good cleaner - Invisible Glass- Chemical Guys- Meguires etc. NOT WINDEX!
2. I use a microfiber cloth
3. Dry glass with second, clean dry microfiber cloth
4. HERE IS THE NEW PART- Use a third microfiber cloth wet with 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol, gently wiping the entire glass surface. This, at least for me, on 3 different cars gets rid of the streaks.
I understand that the alcohol does not affect any HUD coating on the windshield.
