Unleash the Beast. After watching numerous ads & videos, I purchased & installed the Soler controller. Instructions for install are very explicit to prevent a DTC. As advertised, it really woke up the LT2. As suggested, I started with the Sport 5 setting. WOW. Many additional settings are available so experimenting with the controller or the cell phone app is a fun learning curve. I recommend the OEM setting for heavy traffic as slight throttle pressure in a performance setting may lead to unexpected leap into someone's bumper.
My problem was that I didn't know how the clip worked. Stretching in there trying to unclip. I tried practicing using the Solar and snap I broke the locking piece of the Soler clip. Oh well. I did get it installed and it works. No one will be trying to unclip it behind the pedal, under the carpet so it's okay. Been fine now for a few months.
I installed mine early last Saturday before a group drive. The installation was straightforward. The toughest part was separating the wire harness from the pedal, especially considering the contortion required to get to it. The clip requires pressure on its sides to unhook after opening the red safety clip. As for performance, it's immediately noticeable. I started in sport 5 in my building's garage and my Vette took off squealng it's tires on the ceramic surface (asphalt would provide more resistance) with a short press on the accelerator. It doesn't add HP but it is certainly noticeable especially at slower speeds.
Yep, must have mod for the C8. As others have said the C8's throttle response is not very good unless you hammer it. Not hard to install except for getting to the accelerator pedal and unclipping the connector. My advice it to practice on the Soler Performance connector before removing the pedal and disconnecting it. You can see how the connector disconnects using the Soler one before trying the one connected to the pedal.
Or those who used it and then the ECU crashed and put the car in the GM Shop to have a Tech 2 spend hours trying to fix the damage it caused
Of all the posts I've seen on all the sites I watch I have never heard a story like this. Want to tell us how the Soler Throttle Controller crashed your ECU?

Never had a single problem on any of my 4 cars with throttle controllers over the past 8 years. Cant see how a signal change of the throttle could damage the ECU. But hey what do I know.
I could see a complete failure off or a complete failure full on to be an issue but I THINK Soler has a cut out if this happens to drop it back to OEM.
Do a forum search (all forums C5-C8) and you will find that these issues do happen. It usually takes 2+ years of use. One of the members in the C6 forum has his ECU crash and it took hours of trouble shooting to repair his ECU. It corrupted the CAN bus controls due to a bad input from the throttle controller

Easy enough. Take your C8 to the GM dealer and advise them about the throttle controller and ask them if it would void the warranty if your ECU crashes or bugs out.

Given that it can't exceed the stock voltage from the throttle pedal, the answer is "it can't." The post is either total BS or something unrelated trashed the ECU.
