We did a half dozen OTAs for our MY22. Been awhile since the last one mid 2023? All went just fine. Since you got the notice, the software is already downloaded to the car. Waiting on you to approve the install. You have awhile to get it done. Used to be 30 ignition cycles. After that the update was abandoned. Good idea to do from home since you can't drive during the update. Menu comes up telling you the sequence of events. I parked in the garage followed the bouncing ball on the Info screen. Left the driver's side window down so I could see the Info screen easier from outside the car. Went inside. Goes faster if you're not watching. Like boiling water eh? Each time, I went back out 10 minutes later and all had been completed. Optional of course, but I'd do it.

They once had a history of things going wrong (do an "Advanced search" here), but I've not seen any such new threads of late; so, maybe GM is learning.
I received the notice for my 2025 I’ll wait and see what happens after others install it.

My update went smoothly, I will say though I did have the car plugged in to the Battery Tender with a full battery charge during entire software update process.
I received the same update notice for my '25 yesterday and I went through the update procedure without any issues. The only thing that I ran into was, that it lost my phone's Bluetooth connection, so I had to pair my phone with the car again. After that, I took it for a 30-mile drive and didn't notice any changes.

OP - great that the software update went as planned. As stated, maybe GM has gotten the process down pat after having some problems in earlier model years.

Hmmmm. I have a 2024 manufactured 7/29/24 with 4,200 miles and have never had a request or OTA performed. Just checked and my app says "Vehicle is up to date." with no history to show.

Forum reports over the last few years seem to show that the updates differ for different model years, and perhaps even for different VIN numbers within a model year. My 2021 had a few early on, but none for a long time now.
I'm going to speculate that GM probably has running software changes during a model year, and so cars delivered at different times may already have different software loads, even within the same model year. If that's right, then subsequent updates would vary depending on the original factory software load.

My 2024 was #975 built on Sept 26 2023 and it still says "Vehicle is up to date" like yours.
Every time I check I pray it will say: Update available. We apologize for putting the God awful Google infested Infotainment system in your car. Installing this update will turn your current unit into a 2023 version that everyone knows and loves. We thought you wouldn't mind paying GM/OnStar extra $ while you own the vehicle but have seen the error of our ways.

I prefer my '24 system to the previous '23 I owned. I like it doesn't ask 101 questions on start up and show my name with a stupid avatar on the screen. Also, I use AA so I have a choice of Google Maps or WAZE for navigation. Typically Google for local and WAZE ("Police Reported Ahead!") for any highway driving. Long press the "call" button to make phone calls or use the voice system. No subscription needed and no complaints with how it operates...and I'm technology challenged to put it mildly.
