My only gripe with the wall is that the LEDs are not bright enough. From the spy shots I've seen so far, it seems like an improvement in some respects, such as moving some HVAC buttons to the strip under the center vent, and leaving them as tactile buttons. Also moving the wireless phone charger to the center console makes sense--I don't have a wireless charge cell phone but most C8 owners don't like the current location.
Agree the button LEDs need to be redesigned. I'm constantly cupping my hands over a button to see if it's active driving during the day especially when the top on my HTC is down. There also needs to be some sort of grab handle on the passenger side. Invariably a passenger has to grab or rest their elbow on the wall of buttons and turn whatever buttons they've touched on or off. I can't tell you how many times fans have been turned on to full blast when a passenger gets in the car. Very annoying.
The button wall has never bothered me in the ones I've driven, however I could see it being a nuisance if I had to live with the car on a daily bases. I could for sure see it being a turn off to the passenger, but to me I'd rather have a driver centric car anyway so its kind of an afterthought for me. Def not a deal breaker but excited to see if the new refresh is worth waiting a year to put my e-ray order in. Im sure the old lady won't care either way since she'll likely get plenty of seat time too on days when I wanna take the C6 out.
But it is a poor design choice from a practical perspective. Speficically, the max/air button. I use that frequently to defog the front windshield. It's unsafe to literally have look by my right elbow to find it.
The C8 has been around for 6 model years and it's starting to get semi stale and sales are showing that as well. If GM is going to run the C8 for like 3 more years then I would think a mild (but noticeable) refresh to the front and the back designs along with an interior refresh would really pick up sales. But I doubt that's going to happen.
