Default 3LT interior problems

Does the C8's LT3 have problems with the dash covers like the C7 and C6's of the past? I found a nice 23 C8 LT3 leather trim but kind of spooked by past LT3 stories? Need owner's input. My 2017 C7 is a LT2 and always garaged interior like new.

There are 3LT dashes in the C8 that are bubbling. One reason i did a 2LT which is plenty nice for me.

Too soon to tell. The glue hasnt had enough time to age and fail yet.

Yep, plenty of posts about it. The only positive is it seems pieces of the C8 dash can be removed & replaced instead of the entire dash needing to come out with previous generations.

Yes, constant threads about it just like the C6 & C7. I went 2LZ just to avoid the issue on both my 24 Z06 and 25 ERay. I'm actually very happy with the 2L trim level, doing a few options (like 2-tone interior) and Alcantara seat centers make the 2L trim very nice.

Leather debonding from the dash has been reported in the C8 3LTs however it isn't as prevalent as posts make it seem. My 2015 3LT didn't have any problems and it hasn't happened in my 2020 3LT. And, as mentioned, if it does bebond in a C8 it is much easier to fix than it was in previous generations.

I bought my 2023 3LT C8 in June of 2022 and my dash has been fine with no problems.

On my second 3LT, 2016 C7 and 2024 C8, total of 9 years, both perfect.

Yes there have been reports of delamination and pictures on the forum. My advice would be to get the nice car you found and dont sweat about the small things. Enjoy the car. The forum is a great place, but you have to take complaints for face value. Just because some people have an issue and share threads about it here on the forum, doesn't mean that 100% of the cars have the issue. Your talking about small numbers as an overall for the c8 platform. Just like the C7 and C6.

There have been issues with transmissions on the forum here as well. Do you have the same thought about not getting a C8 due to those posts as well? If those type of things give you anxiety, I can understand...and maybe the forum is not a good place to be hanging out for staying up to speed on the good and bad for a vehicle. I think its kind of funny where someone will have say a Toyota Camry or something at home and when you ask them did they get on a forum for that car as well as their corvette. Some will say no because they dont care about problems on that car. Point being. Keep it out of site and out of mind and enjoy the car. Its good you are educated about potential issues and if they come up during warranty you are covered.

Get out there and enjoy it.

Oh and yes I have a 3LZ vehicle no issues. Seen the issues that people posted and they were awful if you get it. But didn't stop me from getting what I wanted. I really like the trim over all the others. Best decision I made on my C8 purchase as far as interior aesthetics.

Saw quite a few with this problem at Ron Fellows Spring Mountain. I believe most if not all of the Z51's were 3LT, but keep in mind this cars are probably left outside the majority of the time in Nevada heat.

My c7 was eight years old and my 24 C8 is 1.5 years old. Both LT3 and zero issues.

Heat or cold has nothing to do with the bubbling. It is the bonding process, or the glue that was or was not used. I've talked with two interior shops that have seen and done repairs on Corvettes and other high end cars and they both told me the same thing, the glue or the bonding process failed and not the outside air temps or conditions.

I would have did a 3LT if not for the dash issues. Decided the 2LT was better long term so it was ordered.

Btw have a 3LT on our current C6 corvette.

Was looking at the 2024 stats. What was weird is that the stingray most preferred selection was 2LT, but the Z06 is 3LZ

STINGRAY COUPE CONV
1LT 34.6 12.1
2LT 46.2 45.3
3LT 19.2 42.6

Z06 COUPE CONV
1LZ 12.4 3
2LZ 23.1 16.5
3LZ 64.5 80.5

I’ve had my new Z06/3LZ for two weeks and the dash is fine……it does have 235 miles though.

Generally people who buy the higher trim levels load them up with options. I think the dealer orders are also probably mostly 3LZ because they have a larger profit margin. I don't remember many 1LZ Z06s of previous generations.

Unfortunately the delamination is still happening. You would figure that after three generations of the Corvette, GM could get it fixed.

yes sections can just be removed. Had an issue on my’20 right by the HUD; piece removed and replaced. Rest of dash is and has been fine

Recently purchased a fully loaded 2025 3LT Z51 HTC SR from dealer showroom, usually order 2LT's but purchased without hesitation. Going to enjoy and have warranty if needed. It's a material thing that can be repaired or replaced. Feel fortunate to be able to own a corvette.
Enjoy the ride.
