I'm a fair-weather driver in general but I've driven my '24 C8 in the rain and very little water makes it into the engine bay. One thing I always avoid however, is letting it sit out in the rain. When I wash it, four strips of blue painters tape (two down each side, and one horizontally along lower edge of glass) and it's a quick easy clean up. Enjoy!
Other than to prevent water spots, the engine getting wet will have no adverse effects. Have you ever opened the hood on your front engine vehicles after driving in rain? Guess what, the engine gets wet.
I would agree with a previous poster about getting an HTC but I believe you can buy some engine covers that you can put in the vents next to the window. Then, all you have to do is lay some towels down on the engine to keep the water out.
This and dealing with leaves, dust etc is basically why I purchased an HTC.
Quick question - 2021 Stingray - What is the best way to keep the engine from getting wet every time it rains?
Thanks
The question I have in reply is------ Why would you want to keep it dry?----
If the factory designed the car so that water can get in, it can't hurt a thing. And it doesn't
I get very little water in the engine area, even using my power washer. I actually like a little water as it provides just enough to clean up wiping with a microfiber. Keeps the area from getting dusty. one time, it got really dusty, just from the summer and I used the pressure washer to clean it up. No harm.
"If the factory designed the car so that..." Given some of the design "features" GM has implemented on my Vettes over the years, I'd hardly use this as an valid argument!
Don't drive in the rain. Keep it in the garage like everybody else.
"Everybody else..." not so much, there are Corvette owners who don't care if their car gets wet regardless of garage storage.
This is especially valid when you live in an area like I do (Southern Alabama) where during the hot and humid summer months, unexpected thunderstorms can develop.
the ONLY thing you need to be concerned about when driving in the rain is your driving habits and safety, the car itself will be just fine, it's not going to melt.
However... Your car, your rules and if Garage Queen status is your choice and only drive when weather is 100% predictable, that is OK too.

Don’t forget there’s Weather mode if it does start to rain. It will keep you from ending up on the median…
