Default New wheels

I’m thinking about getting new forged wheels for my 2024 corvette HTC, Non-Z51. I would appreciate advice & suggestion on the best vendors.
Thanks for your thoughts.

ALT Forged from GEM Motorsports on Ebay. Around $2000
19x8.5 20x11. The offset is about 18mm out so the do fill up the fenders.

You have a lot of good choices. The best advice is to do a little homework and ask each vendor the same set of questions so you can compare apples to apples.

What to ask vendors
  • Construction: Cast, flow formed, or fully forged. Fully forged is strongest and usually lightest. Ask what alloy and heat treatment they use.
  • Testing and standards: Do they meet or exceed JWL, VIA, SAE J2530, or TÜV? Ask for cornering fatigue, radial fatigue, and impact test details.
  • Runout: Industry standard is about 0.02 in. Premium builders target 0.01 in or less. Ask for the actual number and how they measure it.
  • Weight: Get real scale weights for your exact sizes, not just a generic catalog number.
  • Fitment support: Have them confirm brake clearance, inner liner clearance, and fender position in writing.
  • Hardware and compatibility: Hub-centric bore, correct lug seat, and OEM TPMS compatibility. Hub rings included if needed.
  • Finish and warranty: What is the finish process and what are the structural and finish warranty terms?
  • Lead time and after-sales: Realistic build time, return or exchange policy, and support if something arrives damaged.
Rule of thumb on sizes
  • 19/20 keeps the factory feel and tire availability strong.
  • 20/21 gives more stance and concavity if the offsets are chosen well.

If you have any questions feel free to reach out anytime!

Aerolarri has some great wheel designs and finishes. Great customer service too.
I absolutely love the ones we put on our C7 Z06. Made them so they fit flush and the gloss black finish is perfect.

Offset and Backspacing are very important and often overlooked...

Hub diameter is also frequently overlooked.

+52 / +64, according to google-fu.

Keep in mind that changing the offset will move the tire outboard or inboard (regardless of rim width). So if you keep the same size tire as stock, and just reduce the offset, the tires will come closer to the edge of the fender, but you'll have that much more space on the inboard side. So reducing the offset (and pulling the wheel further outboard) actually works better when you want to increase tire width without worrying about inboard fitment/clearance.

You asked for opinions so I'll give you a couple of mine.

Firstly, what's important to me is --- How easy are they to clean--- that means the fewest, thinnest spokes so that I can get my hands into the barrel to clean as easy as possible and also the fewest nooks and crannies for dirt to accumulate in. Ergo, the best wheels I've seen so far are the eRay wheels or replicas in the proper sizes, 19 and 20 instead of the 20,and 21. I don't even know if aftermarket ones exist, but that's my thought.

Secondly, It's your car, do what you like, and makes you happy, but in the long run, aftermarket wheels lower the value of the car, so you're spending money to make the car worth less. It doesn't make sense to me, but again, It's your car.

My 2¢

^^^ Zormecteon brings up a good point ,and some people may disagree but, if you do change your wheels I would hold on to you stock ones. When the time comes to resell/trade-in you C8 having the OEM wheels may make you car more desirable..

Thanks for your 2 cents. I appreciate knowing your thoughts.

Based on aftermarket wheels lowering the resale value, that would suggest that I purchase GM forged wheels. Your thoughts?

Not for a Stingray. IMHO, the only OEM C8 wheels to even be considered are the ER and Z06 designs. (or the CF designs on those cars). And MRR offers all 3 of these for SR.

I personally give 2 ***** about resale value or holding on to alternate wheels--since I don't swap tires out for track/seasonal duties, and I keep my cars for 10+ years.
