I have a 2020 but I'm going to cheat and not change the coolant until next year even though the coolant change interval is every 5 years in the 2020 owner's manual. GM changed the change interval to 6 years in later year cars.
I have a copy of the service manual from eBay but my copy skips over the coolant drain and fill section. If anyone has a copy of the official drain and fill procedure posting it would be appreciated. I did find the TechLink draining and filling tips below: https://techlink.mynetworkcontent.co..._July_2020.pdf
I had my dealer do mine along with the brake fluid - part of the 5 year maintenance requirements.
I had the dealership do the brake fluid flush at four years and coolant at five. Was going to do both at four years but service writer said hold off on the coolant.
"...drain nozzles and 3 refill nozzles.....Z or E, the front bumper cover must be removed"
Jeez.
Well, does any one have and can post the GM Step by Step procedure, for a SR HTC?
"As prescribed"? Your brake fluid was due at 5 years, not 4.
The brake fluid flush wasn’t required at four years. I chose to do it at four years. It was not clear in the reservoir. Used to flush monthly during autocross activities with my 87. The fluid gets polluted. So now I’m good for another five years, right? Unless it’s dirty and I elect to do it early again.
The milk smells and tastes sour two days before the sell by date on the carton. But would you drink it? I won’t.
Your warranty expired and , evidently, you elected not to purchase a warranty for additional coverage. That’s OK. I hope I never have to use mine. With multiple computers on board I made the investment just like insurance coverage for driving. Hoping it’s never needed.
At step 32 expect a lot of coolant to be expelled from the surge tank; as noted, lots of rags in the area helps but it's still messy (but works!). I personally still had system issues. The temp readings would suddenly shoot up (+220-deg) at random times and it took the vacuum and refill method to finally cure the issue.
