Do we really need data to tell us a high pressure water stream blasting the car grime into your finish often with chemicals will take the wax off a vehicle. Rain alone does it over time and that is not pressurized. Sure some washes put a wet coat of wax on it before the dry process to get it to bead up but that is only a temporary thing for appearance. That wax does not penitrate the finish just sprayed on and washed off and does not provide the same UV protection. For convenience though it sure does make it nice but never for my Corvette, other cars it's ok with me ocassionally.
