I spoke with him a few weeks ago and he mentioned that GM raises the prices usually once a year or so…I know some folks like to wait a few years to get more out of the standard warranty but you need to also factor in that the extended warranty may be more in a few years, so if you are not planning on getting the the longest one you may want to factor a possible price change into the mix...

It may go up some, but I followed it and it did not appear to go up a lot. The price shown in the current list for the 8/80 plan is only slightly higher than mine was from Todd when I bought the plan in early 2024 for my 2021. It does jump apparently a good bit if you have 12 k miles though.
In my case I wanted the maximum extension beyond the B2B. Keep in mind to that (for example) an 8 year plan purchased a year before the B2B expires provides the same extension beyond the B2B expiration as a 7 year plan purchased just before the B2B expires. And so on. So you would want to try to compare the price of the 8 year plan now with your guess at the price of the 7 year plan purchased a year later.
Right! I forgot about the 12K milage aspect, that is also a factor to consider…I don’t plan to put a lot of milage on the car but I also don't plan to rush and trade it in so time is more important then milage. the 84/70 looks good….maybe the 96/80. I also wont wait too long to buy it, want to get it off my list of things I need to do….
So if you buy one shorter than the longest term/miles, can you extend it down the road if your plans change and if so is it reasonable like maybe double the difference when under the 3/36 as listed above?
Went with 84/70, Zero ded. Overkill for me but will add to the resale. I don't think I will loose money either way. Realistically I will have the car another 5 - 6 yrs, put on 50- 60k mi. Maybe! I am really loving my 25' Lexus GX550 Overtrail 🤗 Thanks for all the input. -

The sweet spot is buying it 1-2 months before factory 3 year warranty expires, since it overlaps with it.
From a pricing standpoint, I found the 7 year plan with a deductible was the best value.
Just make sure you buy it from MacMulkin (they have the absolute lowest price) and not a local dealership.
I agree in theory with that strategy but my concern is the cost three years from now is an unknown…..I don't like unknowns…and I have one more thing to remember three years from now….and i hate “to dos” pilling up on my list...

Historically the annual cost increases (usually on Oct. 1) have been in line with inflation. But there have been some "surprise" cost increases that have been announced before the increase but they haven't always come true.

What is the typical bump after the 12K mikes? Also with the current economic state and potential tariffs I wonder if there is a significant price increase on the horizon...

Of the two surprise bumps that were announced, that I recall, they were in different years, one was from Todd, the other was from Dennis. As I recall, neither happened. Benefit of the doubt, again from recollection, each has said their info came from GM.
As for the bump at 12K miles, that came up too. As I recall, that actually was substantial - whoever reported that will have to chime in though - I just don't recall which thread.
^^^^ Yeah, that is why I most likely will just get it right off the bat and move on to other things…like I said, i hate things hanging over my head…This whole ordering a C8 is killing me, I started this journey back in August and really thought I would be over and done with it by now…it really has taken the fun out of buying one...
