I was interested in a new ‘21 C8 a few years ago from Patriot Chevrolet in Limerick, Pa. We agreed on a price and trade value. When I got there they added 20k. Needless to say I will never do business there.
i purchased a ‘24 HTC from MacMulkin and everything was perfect. I will do business with them again.
Well I have learned the hard way that unless the finance manager signs off, there is no deal at all. Buyer beware at all times.
As someone who has worked 20 years in a dealership (I’ve worn all 3 hats) I can second this. Numbers on a buyers order don’t mean anything unless signed by a sales manager, general manager, or a finance manager.
I was #33 on an allocation list but didn't want to wait until May or so to get a car. So, I cancelled and just bought an in-stock car that had MSRP over $97k from MacMulkin and they knocked off $10k and there is no BS at that dealership. So, I got >10% off. They have lots more on the lot and more in transit.

FYI, I went to purchase a 2026 Stingray convertible today. Les Stanford has one advertised today with a discount of $13K off msrp of $93K. Received a call, spent time discussing my 2020 C8 trade, payment, and incidentals. After spending a lot of time talking, I said let's put the numbers down on exactly what I will pay. With that, he said they would give me a 7% discount off msrp. I replied "that's only $6,500.00 and your ad states discount is $13K " . He replied the $13k only applies if you are a GM employee. WHAT A SCAM !!!!!!! By the way, I have taken 2 people up to buy cars from them in the past and have recommended them to others. NO MORE. BUYER BEWARE !
Good morning. I must take back my negative comment regarding Les Stanford Chevrolet. After posting on the Forum, I sent a message to the President, GM, and GSM at Les Stanford regarding their advertising methods. They have contacted me and apologized for the way things were handled and offered me a significant discount on an in stock or if I wish to order a car. They have been very professional and over the top in working with me. I am going to purchase a car from them and will continue to recommend them to others. Great people to work. I would never have put up my post had I known how they would respond to my note.

Didn't your momma tell you all if it sounds to good to be true .............................???
Now days buying a car has become a nightmare. I used to love working the pricing and trade.. Not anymore. Way too much dealership colluding going on. Not enough competition.. Things have changed over the last 25 years. Heck I had to sign documentation that stipulated that I wasn't buying an electric vehicle and another document saying I was buying a gas powered car. I think buying a house is simpler.. lol
Was looking at a car that had a really great price listed for it on car gurus, but read their dealer reviews, split evenly between 5 stars and 1 star, with just a few between those two extremes, all of the 1 star reviews talked about that dealer charging anywhere from 4K to 6K over and above the advertised price for dealer add-on accessories and protection packages and such, and not disclosing the extra charges until the very end of the buying process, as they were signing the paperwork.
It was funny reading the glowing 5 star reviews mixed in with those 1 star ones, it was either feast or famine.
I got My Wife’s 2025 GMC SLT Crew Cab 4x4
$65k MSRP for $54k out the door( taxes and all Dic Fees).
They said what they wanted. I said this what is what I’ll write the check for. Done Deal. We were real close on the price before I even said a word.
I’ll let You do the math

That's approximately $14,000 off MSRP ( about 22% off + /- ) if your including 5% sales tax & no other charges ( with no trade in tax credit ) more or less then sales price had to be around $51,000 + tax. That's kinda hard to believe, as there is not that kind of profit / mark up in a GMC pick up truck. I would love to see a photo of your final bill of sale & or bank contract. Feel free to post it & block out your name, address & phone number as well as the serial number, i'm only interested in seeing proof of those sales numbers.

There was a trade. A 2023 Taco 4 Runner. I got a really good trade in offer. Which basically cancelled out the taxes ( at 5% so we know we are still on the same page since I’m assuming you looked where I’m from) so they really don’t make a difference in the total I’m talking.
Forerunner was paid for. I offered cash for the Difference. I’ll have to get the Wife to pull the paperwork from Dealer. There was no Bank (Financing) involved.
And I’m curious how You know what Mark up is in not just cars but all sellable goods?
I’d love to tell You the story of how I bought I Chevy pickup back in the early 2000’s and was able to get all the hold back and such plus all the discounts.
Because that was so much fun that Day sticking it to a Stealer 😁 But I’m not going to spend the evening typing all that out for You. But I will get the Wife to pull the paperwork on this last truck and send it to You.
Im assuming You do remember the discounts offered on the 2019 ZR-1??? There were People getting 17-19% off of MSRP.
This truck is not a Vette. So They will deal more if You know what Your doing to get it off the lot.
