C8 first oil change

I wasn't commenting on it being wrong to change at 500 miles, only the mechanic saying there was a C8 video that showed it was necessary!
In fact, although my September 2013 built C7 Z51 did not have the 500 miles change requirement and since I change my own oil, I did at 1500 miles "just in case" AND to install two magnetic drain plugs. In fact until about mid 2014 dealers WOULD NOT CHANGE oil for FREE until the OLM said less than ~20%. They had a good reason since we were to get 4 free oil changes (remember this was before the GM bulletin in November 2014 which added a 5th) BUT that had to be within 2 years. So if driven less than about 7500 miles/year we would only be entitled to two FREE changes. Dealers were concerned they would NOT be reimbursed. It fact there are forum posts where dealers where not reimbursed and made the owner pay!
ALL THAT SAID, SINCE THE C8 WARRANTY SAYS 2 FREE SERVICE IN THE FIRST YEAR, DID YOU GET THE 500 MILE CHANGE FOR FREE???

I’m only getting one free oil change within 1 year or 12,000 miles my free one is history.
