Have you driven around in LA? Many streets have surface level draining an thus the approach angle to driveways are awful

Yes I have, I have lived in So Cal my whole life. I have driven cars/trucks that sat 1in off the ground. As long as you know your car is low or lowered you are fine. I mean the front is almost 7 in off the ground the surface level drainage is not that big, it just called observant driving.

Hmmm okay, grab your C8, come up to Venice and get into my alley then driveway without a front lift. Good luck and bring some 2x4's!

OK... But you just said it "my alley then driveway" so driving the city has no baring its your drivay.... Not trying to be an *** but do you have a photo of this alley and driveway.
Mines on order and I didn't get the front lift and do plan on lowering it.

Dude, I used it twice today and if I didn't have it I would have been scraping the front lip. I went into Malibu Kitchen via PCH right by the Shell, front lift goes up and still got on three wheels. Then in Venice I pulled into American Beauty to get lunch today, my buddy in his 458 needed his front lift and so did I. My GT4's front lip is so scarped up from driving around here, I won't replace it til I sell the car at this point. Skipping on the front lift when you plan on lowering it was not a good decision. I was close to selling my GT4 for a GT3/RS due to them having the front lift, it gets pretty damn annoying in LA, Laguna Beach, Malibu etc.

I dont know different mind sets, diverent generations. Yes you will scrap but as long as you go nice and slow who cares. It get scraped, and it's on the bottom, no one sees and it I say it's not a big deal. It's on order so I can always change my mind but I am still not convinced it's needed. The splitter is $160 if it gets messed up I replace it.

Its embarrassing when I scrape my GT4 and I feel bad for my cars soul, I try to avoid it at all costs. I know the scuffs are under the car and nobody but me will see it but I'm OCD and it'll drive me nutz

I get that... I am OCD about everything else. The scrapes will be the scrapes and it's the take of the give and take relationship of looking amazing at a cost. ($150 splitter vs $1500 front lift) but who knows maybe it is worth the $1500 but then again the lowering will cost more aswell.

ok we get it, you both live in L.A.
I come to Marina often enough, I'm with kotykb on this one. But only if he plans to drive around with it lifted all the time cuz there are way too many transitions around town to be waiting for it to go up and down all the time LOL.
Yes we all know how to drive a lowered car around and try to avoid the inevitable scrape, but why live with the hassle if you don't have to?

That's whole lot of contradiction.... You agree with him you need a lift.... Then say "if you drive with it up all the time". So is your input you get it but drive with it up all the time and just have your car low when it's parked? I can't tell from your post what you input is besides beating a dead horse I got the image.

I'm wanting to buy z51 shocks for my C8, I did not get the Z51 package, but I've gotten mixed messages on whether all 4 shocks are ride height adjustable or not. Does anybody have picks or know for sure. I'm just wanting ride height adjustment on both front and rear, not wanting to spend 3500.00 bucks for shocks at this time, or even 2500.09 bucks. According to GM, parts should be around $1000.00. But I cannot confirm that the front shocks have the adjustable valve body of the shock like the rears

Same here (non Z51) - was waiting on KW for a full adjustable kit but the Z51 FE3 might work fine for me. The parts - including Cicio’s front collars for my front lift - would be well under a grand and figure another $500-600 for labor. Just need 100% confirmation everything will swap with no issues including the front lift.
