Engine service
I wonder if a major service will require the engine to be removed like on the Ferrari 355. I know my Ferrari 360 had the removable cover behind the seats so the front of the engine could be serviced. I've not seen any photographs or drawings of what the access to the front of the engine is like. Anyone know? Techs maybe?

There is no regular maintenance that’ll require engine removal. GM doesn’t really have a major service like the Ferrari. No timing belts on the small block. Now if you need an engine repair then the engine will come out. Belts,hoses,ac and alternator, plugs wires and coils all are accessible.

Why do you wonder this? Are you doing the work?
either way, I’d rather work be done out of the car and not leaning over the fenders risking body damage. And ensuring all bolts are properly torqued not half assembled due to difficult working positions.

For just about every performance upgrade it will have to come out... well most defiantly heads and cam. Which I suppose isn't that much different from the C7. Alot of shops just removed the motor to work on it easier.

Nothing on the front of a GM V8 that needs servicing other than if it breaks. There is no timing belt but there is a timing chain. Most timing chains last well past 100K miles. My 03 Tahoe with 125 K miles hasn't had any major service done on it. Change oil when OLM says to, change coolant and plugs per GM OM directions. It is my tow vehicle and has seen at least 50K miles towing a trailer with a Corvette. Have been driving for 62 years and have noticed that most domestic cars require very little service. The nature of the US Customer who doesn't like taking a car in for service for any reason.
