Default Non Z51 question

Has anyone done the following:

1. Lowered a non Z51 with front lift?
2. Lowered a non Z51 with no front lift?

if so, what did it entail? I know Cicio has the part for the front lift. I am not sure if the front shocks are different in a non z51 car compared to a z51 car.

I have the parts for it (Cicio front collars - mine has front lift) and FE3 shocks for the rear. Car is going to my mechanic next Tuesday for install. Total cost is around $500 for parts and $500-600 for installation. I think I will be the first to try this. We will see how the car rides/handles then make any necessary adjustments from there.

Are you worried that the spring rates between the FE1 front shocks and the FE3 rears will be mismatched?

Can you share the part numbers and where to buy the coilovers?
Thanks

That’s exactly what’s kept me from purchasing a set of z51 struts. I wouldn’t guess that gm kept the z and base spring rates the same. It’s such a technical question that I’ve never bothered asking around.....but if forced to bet I would say no. I’m anxiously awaiting the eibach springs though😍

At least one person has used lowering colors on the front with the FE1 shocks combined with the FE3 shocks on the rear, and reported everything was fine. It might not be ideal, but it didn't seem they were different enough to cause a problem.

If you buy the non-Z with the FE2 (MSRC) shocks, they include the adjusting collars just like the FE4. (You'll still need the collars in front if you have FEL.)
