Does the C8 use the same type of Jack pucks as the C7?
thanks
Yes, I used my 2 1/2 inch diameter Reverse Logic pads (2 1/2 inch also specified for my C7s NOT the 3 inch I had for my C6) for my low dust pad install. Also brought 4 to the Dealer and the Corvette Tech used as well even on their post lift after I showed him the C8 that fell! Not sure what the problem was but real easy to put the jack lift arms on what looks like a good spot in the rear, which although close to the oval slots on the frame is actually outside the frame!
Good to know thanks. I was wondering if the jack puck locations on the C8 were positioned correctly so as to keep the car from falling off the lift. You seem to have answered that question.
Did you leave the pucks off the car or leave them on?
^^^
I don't have the "leave in" jack pads shown in Red. Not sure if they would be high enough once I install my Side Skirts. I have several types but the 4 Reverse Logic pads are 1 Inch high. Would NOT leave those it as could hit something. They are designed so you can temporarily install them by removing the screw, than remove the white spacer and tightening the screw to the top and lock them in the GM provided oval frame slot.
Bit of a pain but if going to the large Chevy dealer in town would do it as I don't trust their techs would use them even though I used to instruct the Service Writer to tell the tech they were on the passenger seat in a clear plastic bag. Unfortunately techs get paid commission based on doing things quickly and easier to just kick the lift arms with their foot and push under the car! Have watched as they did that (not on a Vette!)
However where I bring the car now is a small Chevy dealer and their Corvette Tech is great. I bring the pads in a zippered bag. Know he uses an appreciates them. I use them as I do my aluminum jack pads, just when needed (like the brake pad install) then remove them.
