Has anyone started on decoding of the CANBUS? I don't currently have time to get into it with my other project car, but AIM is looking for someone to help with setup of the SOLO DL lap timers.
It's going to be more tricky than in the past. The car has eleven CAN buses and five Ethernet buses. They're all firewalled off from the diagnostic port by a gateway module. So you have to get permission from the gateway before you can do anything more complex than the usual low end OBD2 stuff. You may be able to tap the bus somewhere else in the car's harness, but then you run into the possibility of encrypted CAN. I haven't found any solid information saying whether that's enabled or not.
This new digital connected vehicle platform is really, really locked down.
Pay $20 for a 3 day pass to acdelcotds.com. GMs service information is the same system the dealer techs use. That's where I got my information. It's mostly just schematics and a really high level overview. But it's better than nothing.
Need this for as many channels as we can identify, i.e. wheel speeds, brake pressure, throttle position..
BUS Speed: CAN ID: Byte Order (little or big endian): Start bit: Number of bits: Channel Name: Channel Short Name: Max Frequency: Signed Data? (Signed, unsigned): Gain: Offset: Unit:
Yes I have. And it isn't as easy to connect or read as a C6 or C7. I've spend probably 2 weeks worth of time over the past couple months on just one bus to see what useful info is on it for on track stuff.
