it seems to be an excersize in leg pulling..............

No leg pulling here it is 100% true. The next issue is getting a flash to work with global B system

Who, what, when, where, how. If you can’t answer these basic questions, why do you even post?
So let me clear this up. I was at a corvette gathering and there were these 2 guys talking about tuning the C8. I overheard one guy say he had been a beta tester for a company once before that makes a hand held tuner. He said he was sure this company had cracked the PCM of the new C8. That’s all i know he did not mention the companies name.
The ZR1 ECM required expensive hardware modifications in order to be programmable with HP Tuners software. The C8 uses similar hardware, and from what little we know so far the software is even more tightly locked down. This isn't going to be accomplished with one of those little hand held toys.

You obviously know nothing about these little hand held toys. These so called toys are used by Edlebrock, also used by well known shops like ECS and various other shops who install superchargers. You should really check your facts before you post incorrect facts.

So you overheard a guy you don’t know who claims he used to, but doesn’t currently, have dealings with a tuning company and “he’s sure” they cracked the pcm. And that is enough evidence for you to say it’s “100% true”?

So I heard similar information a while back that while the PCM can be reprogrammed it can’t communicate with the rest of the Global B architecture. Which as one would guess makes it worthless until full communication is established. I really wish GM would allow an official option for tuners but you sacrifice your powertrain warranty. They could also offer a tune with a warranty much like Ford Performance does for some of the Ford vehicles.

I've forgotten more than you'll ever know about this topic. Come back when you have something more substantial than some random words you overheard from a conversation you weren't even part of.

Unless your older than me 66 and have been working on cars for over 35 years what you know about this topic could probably fit on the end of a needle.
