Default Extreme Steam from Engine!!!

So finally got my C8 orange Sebring last week, love it! Took it for a drive and kind of drive it a bit rough after about 30 minutes started to steam up pretty badly but all gages showed normal temperature. Is this normal?

Can you describe more details on "a bit rough" what your feeling.

Have not heard anyone describe during break in steaming in the engine compartment, doesn't sound right.

Sounds like a coolant/water leak.
Even with a leak all gauges will USUALLY show pretty normal until the water gets low enough to start an overheating situation. In most cases, once you get to that point the coolant will boil and the condition will cascade into a completely overheated motor and popped pressure cap. People never notice a small temp increase until its too late and there may be little notice.

Once the motor is cold, check the coolant level. If you are losing coolant then its definitely a leak. It could be a partially blown head gasket where some coolant is leaking into the cylinder, causing your rough running condition, and some is leaking outside the motor to make the steam you noticed.
One way to check for a cylinder coolant leak is to pull the plug. Pull a second plug from the opposite bank for comparison. If the suspect plug looks like its been steam cleaned compared to the other one then there is your leak.

same thing happened to me minus the rough ride.. started the car one day and smoke everywhere.... turned out to be a faulty coolant cap.
