Tire rub/bump while turning with wheel fully cranked
Hello!
New member. And new c8 owner - 2 weeks and counting.
My car has run like a dream. But the one thing I noticed was this weird rub/bump feeling feeling if I turn the car at slow speed while I have the wheel cranked all the way to the right or left..
It's like the sensation of riding over a very small speed bump at a regular interval [once per revolution]. Is this normal on a Z51 package with trident wheel? Car was purchased brand new.
Thanks in advance.

I assume you live in a cold climate and it’s happens in cold weather only..It’s called the Ackerman Effect and is perfectly normal. Google the Effect.
If you have never experienced it can be very disturbing, and you think maybe something is broken. As noted above, it is a natural effect of the tires, and suspension geometry.
I know about it and it still gives a start sometimes.
I just picked up my 21 C8 last Tuesday and wondered if this thread had been created. I was pulling out of my garage this morning and felt the Ackerman effect. I was surprised since I don't have the Z51 package which gave me the Michelin all season tires.
Some hind story - I bought a 15 C7 in May 2015 and it had the Z51 package. Those cars came with the Michelin cup tires and wheels hopped like crazy at slow speeds when they were cold. I had no idea why so some research taught me about the Ackerman effect. When I hit 20k miles I decided enough. I went to my local tire store and put Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+ tires on it. Not only did it eliminate the Ackerman effect, the car rode a lot better too.
I sold that car in May 2019 and decided my next Corvette was going to be a C6 manual that I could mod. I was surprised when I felt the wheel hop in that car because I had never felt it in my C5 - which I had for 13 years.
I guess the all season radials on the C8s are different than the Michelin AS 4S. I'll put up with this until it's time to get new tires then go with an Michelin that will eliminate it.
