The layout has to have changed. I found out the hard way. But I'm actually happier with just the sport cats. My buddy has both headers and cats and I have just the cats and I prefer my sound better. They are both the same loudness, but the headers change the tone. Tone is higher and a littler raspier with both. With cats only its a little deeper and throatier.

No they don’t have to ...the manufacture could have made them fit both from the beginning. In your case 2M would have to change their design, but not everyone. And I don’t know if ARH had to change their design
Yes, we had to make a couple of tweaks to accommodate the HTC, but our one design now fits all variations. Absolutely no compromises were made in the redesign.
Sparro, what makes any car raspier with the addition of headers is the inherent design of the mufflers. If they start our raspy, they will get raspier. With the ARH Pure Thunder catback, rasp was designed out of the equation, with or without headers. We avoid it with all our exhaust systems regardless of model. We also avoid cabin drone at all costs.
