Default Issue with Front Trunk Latch Recall Fix

I have a 2020 C8 which I had the vertical door kit installed on it a few months back. I have not had any issues with my car until the dealership recently ran the fix for the front trunk latch and now my car will not go pass 26 mph. There saying its due to the install of the door kit and my installer is telling me that the door kit has nothing to do with the issue. Just checking to see if anyone else has run into the problem and looking for any suggestions.

Thanks

Did you have any luck?

I'm having the same issue on my stock HTC. Annoying to have to do the cable pull.

Your door kit has nothing to do with the frunk.
The recall "fix" was nothing more then reprogramming of how the frunk release buttons work. That should not be causing your issue.
The car thinks the frunk is open which means the sensor to latch interface probably needs adjustment. Maybe the connector is not fully seated.

What messages is the car showing?

Default Frunk Issue

Hello,

It’s finally fixed and I finally have my car back. After about two weeks and me calling GM to add some pressure the dealership finally realized that the door kit had nothing to do with it. They really couldn’t say what caused the issue to be honest but what they ended up doing was replacing the latch all together which included the module to my understanding. They did say that this issue would not have happened if they had disconnected the module before running the update being that I had the door kit, not sure how that makes sense but whatever. I know the frunk had issues during the assembly of the 2020 which they halted assembly for a lil but due to it, I’m guessing mine didn’t get corrected.

Im good to go for now, hopefully no more issues and thanks for the replies.

Still sounds like utter nonsense from the dealer. You basically changed the door hinges. Nothing more. This did not change any of the door switches or sensors therefore all the original functionality is there and there was no need to disconnect the Frunk module before the update unless the Module firmware was some earlier version with a bug in it. In any case that's still on the dealer and their mistake not following whatever TSB applied to the fix for your particular module firmware/hardware.
