Default Tow Hooks

I am getting ready to purchase some tow hooks and would like to get some feedback about the quality of different manufacturers.
Please share your experience.
Thank you in advance for your feedback

I ordered this yesterday:. https://www.vicrez.com/vicrez-titanium-tow-hook-power-coated-vz102242-chevrolet-corvette-c8-2020-2021 . Waiting for it to arrive. It is titanium with a thick shaft and they claim it is "SCSA 2" Approved", so I figured it should be plenty strong enough. Chromoly and hardened steel ones may be a bit stronger, though, if they have a shaft as thick as the shaft on the Vicrez.

I looked at cheaper aluminum ones on Amazon, but some of the comments indicated they broke when being used. So, I would avoid the aluminum tow hooks.

Some companies offer both front and back tow hooks as separate units (the back is shorter), but I figured I only need to carry one in the car - if I need to be towed from the front, I will put it in front - if I need to be towed from the back, I will but it in back.

The link has a video showing how it is hooked up in front. I just checked the rear location, and it looks like it will fit there too, it will just stick out farther than one specifically designed for the rear. Since mine will only go on if I need the car to be towed, it is not an issue.

Why would one powder coat a titanium tow hook, for corrosion resistance. I am not sure what titanium alloy would have a corrosion problem. It makes me question the knowledge of the vendor or manufacturer. Or their veracity that it is actually titanium.

Good point. Titanium does not need to be powder coated for corrosion resistance. Clearly, the person in charge of the website content does not know any better. I'm going to give them a call.

UPDATE: I called them.

1. The person I spoke with indicated that the shaft definitely is titanium and it is powder coated for looks. The person indicated that the statement "Powder-coated titanium proving Anti-Corrosive protection" was an error on the part of somebody who created the web page for the product, and they will look into it.

2. The person also indicated that the tow hook does indeed fit the back and is fine for towing from the rear, but it sticks out farther than when mounted in the front. You probably would not want to leave it on the back while driving around.
