I am not crazy, nor am I a rank amateur. Lately, I have begun to hear a quick, sharp hissing sound, somewhat like a waste gate, when under light pedal in my 2020 base coupe with 6,900 miles. It usually occurs slightly after shifting into 6th gear, in auto mode, though, from time to time, it will sound off in 4th gear. Am I the only person with this peculiar sound? Please tell me I'm not going off the deep end.
Check to see if the V8 indicator switches to V4 when you hear the sound, or visa-versa. If so, it is the AFM valves operating.
I think you nailed it. While on a drive this morning, I paid attention to the gear indicator and heard the sound several times, right after the car shifted and went into V4 mode. Thanks for the info.
