There is a popping noise (i believe from exhaust) when it shifts gears when I'm getting on the throttle. Is this normal or should I have it checked out? Car is warmed up as well when it makes noise not only when cold..2021 2lt 2500miles
thx
Normal. It's because of how fast the DCT is able to shift and the engine being able to stay in power. It's more pronounced in Sport/Track/Z-Modes as the exhaust is open more and the DCT shift logic becomes more aggressive.
Not a previous sports car owner??? Its all do to the SPARK being cut for that milla second while shift takes place.Have you ever heard a F-1 car shift??
Not a fan of the popping noise, it reminds me of a sport bike that needs an aftermarket tune. But, as long as it’s normal, and not a sign of it running too rich or an ignition issue, so be it.
I’d rather hear the pops every time than the sound of electric motors, c’mon bring the noise.

Then you're not going to like any high performance sports car with an ICE/ DCT. Most have some version of that design.
