Hello , new c8 owner here , was Just curious what the best “ bang for the buck “ mods were for the c8? I’m located in socal, where are my fellow Californians going for mods ? Just want to do some basic stuff without breaking the bank . Suggestions ?
I'm guessing you have to stay CARB legal so your options are a bit more limited, but there are still a few things you can do. Drop-in air filter for starters, ported throttle body + intake manifold, CARB-approved headers (AFE & ARH are your two choices there), can't touch the cats, but you can do a cat-back.

Really depends who you listen to and trust. For the drop-in air filters, +5-6whp has been pretty well documented and reliable (3rd chart below). For the ported IM/TB combo, these mainly gain you improved throttle response but have seen everything from +3 to +10 or more whp reported/claimed. AFE & ARH headers, which are CARB approved, both share their dyno gains w/charts and which you chose really depends on what you plan to use your car for based on where the gains shows up. ARH (2nd chart below) is geared more for top-end finding their gains north of 4k RPM so I tend to view this as more of a drag racing header while AFE (1st chart below) is all about a fat mid-range with gains basically straight off idle so more geared for street & road course use (charts below - pay attn to the RPM scale along the X-axis as the ARH chart is a little deceiving). As far as cat-backs go, seems like ~10whp is the typical realm of claimed gains.
