Default C8 Oil Conundrum

I have a 2022 C8 built in mid January 2022. Which weight of oil do I use? The 2022 owners' manual states Dexos 0 W 40. My oil filler cap says 5 W 50 Dexos Mobil 1.

0W-40, unless GM accidently slipped an LT6 into your engine bay. Yours is the 2nd report I've seen of someone getting the Z06 cap on their Stingray. I'm betting there are a lot more, but people just haven't checked their oil to notice.

Have you tried holding 1st gear past 6700 RPM? You should. If it goes to 8600 congrats, you got the super secret LT6 upgrade. If it doesn't, well.......good luck with the next engine

Yes, I just checked my cap with VIN ending in 108842 and it says 0W-40.

Supply constraint?
