My biggest question is what does it do for intake temps.

I care more about finding an intake that improves track performance by mitigating temps versus power gained

I have one, noticed more intake noise. As far as intake temperatures, it’s a stock style box mounted in the stock location, so it would seam the stock temperature would be about the same.

You arent going to meaningfully change the IAT's while still using the factory sideblades as your source for 'fresh air'. I dont know of anyone who has actually changed where the air is being sourced other than me.

I've done a lot of headers on C7's, same head design.
The cheesy looking gasket from ARH is actually a very good gasket. The factory gaskets are prone to leak from just being thin and any scratch in the surface will leak. Never a leak with arh gaskets qand they last a long time.

All the air needed by the engine comes through the throttle body, which is an area less than 10 square inches, so why not?

This is an old thread; the car has since been supercharged which changed the intake, the scoop is still utilized to get cool air into the rear to help with IATs, but now IATS are more controlled by the intercooler and ice box than they are the intake scoop. Regardless a ton of heat is generated by the SC so this scoop is still quite functional in that regard.

As for how it was before, i built a custom airbox that ducted to the scoop, the scoop was the only airsource. IATs saw a 6-7 degree drop all things consistent. Marginal results but results none the less.
