I see the NT05 nitto 305 30 20 tires for our cars. For drag racing is there a noticeable difference between the Z51 summer run flats and the nittos in the 60' times? Anybody run them? thanks
I use nt01 on multiple cars for road course and have used them at drag strips and they're not worth much on drag racing over a max summer tire. Obviously for road courses they hold up much better than max summers.
For really reducing 60 foots in drag racing i always go with dr2. Even much less wide ones provide tremendous benefit
Nitto is a wanna be drag radial imho, it’ll help the car be more consistent over the runflats and perform better in less than ideal situations though I wouldn’t expect an improvement otherwise. A shorter, narrower, lighter true drag radial like the nylon belted Hoosier will result in actual improved performance though that requires a different set of wheels and sounds like you’re wanting to use stock?
Just adding. The stock weight for my rear all season tires 68.4 lbs. My nitro 305 NT05 tires and wheels are. 65.4 lbs. 3 lb savings. Softer tire. I’ll be at the drags in a couple weeks when it cools down to try the tires. Let you know how they work.
