I just turned them with a wrench! Frankly think I just turned the hex. They are hex shape for a reason. But not sure. Assume they are adjusted at the factory. Recall adjusting the hood on my C7 by turning the rubber stop so it latched both sides when dropped.

Now that will not affect the latch in the center where perhaps a shim is used.

Be curious to see what is found.
FYI these stops are indeed adjustable. They are stiff to get moving initially. The stops are built like a rubber corkscrew, you just rotate to add height.

I adjusted mine by setting the most rearward ones to the height I wanted.

I wanted to make sure the load was distributed for each stop as well, I did this by closing the liftgate with a piece of paper between each bumpstop and the car.. I adjusted each stop until there was a little bit of resistance pulling the paper out.

Just adding in case anyone finds this thread in the future as I did.

I did not attempt to adjust mine - and so I do not know if, or how those bump stops adjust. I will look in the Service Manual, but they really look like maybe you just turn them to raise or lower them.

Update: see post 8. I found instructions for adjustment of the liftgate - looks like maybe something a dealer should do.

these are adjustable. Mine were not all the same height, so my alignment was off too. I was able to rotate them out-all is good now
