I am not certain, but I think it wants you to push the thumbwheel in, on the cluster of buttons on the right side of the steering wheel.

Yes, whenever it says "select (check mark) to dismiss" it means to press the thumbwheel down. That's the "check mark". Think of it like an OK or CANCEL button.

This is not my first rodeo. I did that first. Got the book out, nothing. Drove to the dealership. I asked if they had an expert on C8 Corvettes. "Not right now". Told me to make an appointment. I made the mistake of saying, "Why, you gonna hire one this week?" Said I would make one. Wrote to you guys,(BEST SOURCE) out there. I got home, tried to figure it out. If I lowered the top, the message "top lowering motion complete, stayed on the center. If I raised or lowered the front, that message stayed on the dash.
I went in and got a cup of coffee. Called the dealership where I purchased the car. Set up an appointment for next week. After the coffee, I went out to the garage and thought about looking at it again. Opened the door and fired it up and EVERYTHING was back to normal. I guess the computer reset itself.
That the guys that responded. Every time I or some of the guys in the Corvette clubs I belong have a problem, I tell them to get hold of the "Forum ",
any problem they have, someone out there has had it too. Someone will have the solution and is willing to give you the answer.
Thank you guys again
my 2023 corvette is my 23rd Corvette

Default Blank dash then Alert #128

Had this same issue happen on an extended road trip today. About 300km into a 1200km trip, we stopped for coffee. When I started the car, the screen was blank. Infotainment worked and HUD worked (after I switched the HUD view using the HUD toggle on the left side of the dash) but main dashboard was black. Turned off the engine and restarted the car twice. Main dashboard still blank.

Because I had the HUD, we decided to move on and find a dealer in the next town about 100km further on. It was when I set the cruise control that I got the #128 Alert (Pressing the right thumb wheel, the standard response to the check mark, did nothing). Stopped at the dealer in the next town and went in and talked with the lady at service, who said it would be several hours. Told her I was going to keep driving and try in the next city. But, this time when I started the car the screen came up normally. Seems like it needed some time (about 10 minutes…) being turned off to reset the computer.

Now I am at home, had several more stops, 12 hours of driving total, and no further issue.

The only thing different was this was on an extend road trip where we put on about 4000km over 5 days, and were on the long stretch home. The only other unique situation was that both my wife and I had our iPhones linked to CarPlay in the infotainment centre. I also had a radar detector plugged into the 12v outlet under the dash, but I have used that before.

Anyway, I thought I would record it here, for the record.

Again, leaving the car turned off for 5 to 10 minutes seemed to reset it.

So that looks like two separate messages. The Press (checkmark) in gray is for the background message "Press brake to Start." That means you pressed the start button without your foot on the brake.

I have no idea what "Alert #128" means, nor what Press Select is referring to. The only reference to that Alert I can find on the internet is this thread, and the OM doesn't use the phrase "Press Select" anywhere.
