The only no-no I see is getting under the car with only jacks. At least throw those wheels under the car as a safety catch, if you aren’t gonna at least jack stand…
Don't you guys realize that this is a big no-no? Just watch today's Tech Tuesday on the Rick Conti YouTube channel! That plus some more BS - I used to like him but now I've just given up.
…NEVER EVER DO IT. ONE OR TWO MAY GET LUCKING BY NOT HAVING IT END IN A DISASTER BUT MOST WILL END UP IN DEEP ****. JUST NOT WORTH IT.
Then again it’s your car and your life you are putting on the line so do what you want.
Those two were rediculous if you listen to what they said. Tires slipping and cars teetering? I lifted my car literally as youd lift it if changing a tire.
Its how my dealership does it from the side as well. Ive never heard of a single person ever having an issue. If you're not comfortable with changing a tire though i wouldn't do it either. Let the dealership do it.

Are you of the sheep in today's world that is told how high to jump too.
No I’m just smart enough to know what’s good advise and bad advise like lifting a car 15 to 20 degrees in a garage then getting under it.
Bottomline, I’ll always listen to a guy who does it for a living instead of listening some unknown internet troll.
Yeah, but unfortunately Chuck seems to always tow the GM party line in the Conti Tech Tuesday videos. I've caught him a couple times saying things contrary to what many of us know from this forum and personal experience.
What’s the official process followed by GM? I would think this is something you’d want the dealer to do for warranty purposes?
From GM corporate they advise to go in through the top. Keep in mind GM dealerships often also use this side method so that differentiates GM dealerships from GM corporate.
Anyone can perform the addition of 2 quarts. Federal law cannot require you to use the dealership. You should keep receipts and documentation of the service though. I use timestamped photos next to the odometer, receipts and a signed invoice documenting the procedure performed and have always had it accepted for later warranty repairs.
My question is simple-Why?
Why would GM send out a 80k car with insufient oils in it?
Whats their gain? To save money on 2 quarts of fluid?
I guess I will run mine as it came and if something breaks I'll let them fix it.

Required if tracking car. Z06 comes with the extra two liters More fluid less particulate per liter in my opinion. Your car your choice. I'll be adding two additional.

Getting stranger by the posts... so basically i paid 90k for a car that came with 2 quarts short on TM fluid.... However, if I don't "track" the car, there is no problem being two quarts short... Btw, what is meant by "track"..... ie 1/4 mile, road course?

No problem, or Chevy deems it "good enough" to make it through the 5/60 warranty period? Judge for yourself, but my car got the 2 quarts added for the same reason I don't only fill my engine oil to the min hash mark to save $10/year on oil and eek out an extra 0.00001 MPG on the highway.
There is no problem and the car is NOT 2 quarts short. GM found that on the track in very high-G turns the fluid could be forced to the side enough for the sump to go dry for a moment. Will not do this with even "spirited" normal driving. I got the extra 2 quarts in the hope that there would be less particulate / fluid while breaking in the transmission. Did it really need it? Almost certainly not. Stop whining about your 90K being 2 quarts short - it's not.
