I'll have to wait a bit to try the 13 degree method.
A cold front just moved through and it's -2 out there right now.
Seriously, glad to hear it. I am going to add mine the same way in the spring. I don't track and don't need it but seems like a good idea.
Did you use anything interesting for the funnel or hose?
1/2 od 3/8 Id, clear hose from home depot. Just cut 5 feet.
A couple of brass fittings so i could put a small funnel on end. I was surprised how fast it took.
I assume you check the initial level or not… then …
Do you just add two quarts and assume the initial level was correct?
or add until it overflows which is definitely two quarts (on a good initial factory fill) at that tilt?
thanks.
so yes it was checked at level. factory level was right on, just below side port.
jacked it up about 15 degrees. Ive seen where some did 13 but could only get a quart and 1/2 in. So much easier and now i feel much better with more fluid in it.
Did same thing last evening- here in Central Florida- very nice 70 degree working temp
I used rags under the plug and also blue painters tape inside the 17mm socket just in case it fell off- avoid the tray/pan removal for lost plug or socket.
2 quarts in with clear tubing and all set to go-
the pictures with 2 floor jacks would be the best and fastest way to do this-

Don't you guys realize that this is a big no-no? Just watch today's Tech Tuesday on the Rick Conti YouTube channel! That plus some more BS - I used to like him but now I've just given up.

Of course their against it. It takes away from their profits. I know who this guy is but I don't watch him. He's a clown.

Can't believe their "tech" is a tech. He says apparently the two tires on the ground could slide out so the car slides off a lift or if using a jack apparently they think people are jacking from the center of the car where there is no jack point and the car will "teeter" back and forth.

The one valid point they make in that fill video, is how to jack up the car. My standard has always been two supports, a floor jack is not enough. In the pictures above I see that they are using two floor jacks.
I would have two jack stands under there also. You cannot be too careful.

Yep all that's stopping a floor jack is a valve, which can leak. I always use jack stands for redundant support. But the method these guys are using to add two quarts sure looks pretty simple.
