I'm really interested in the Eibachs, partly for looks but also as a way to lower the car for track days. I have Z51 MSRC with front lift and am hesitant to go with collars. A couple of questions:
  • Does anyone with Eibachs who's tracked the car have strong opinions, good or bad? Net positive?
  • I haven't seen anything about it, but can it mess with the MSRC "expecting" different travel/behavior?
  • Is it fair to expect relatively fewer problems (actual and warranty related) with the front lift using springs vs. collars?
  • To TX_Chassis_Tuner's point, has anyone experienced insufficient shock travel vs stock? I'm definitely no engineer but would expect the stiffer / higher spring rate to offset a shorter length?
I'm looking for balance - Not a hardcore track junkie or anything but looking for an "OEM Plus" type of upgrade, and going lower but not excessively. Thanks all.

The brand here doesn't matter. The spring rates do. They are comparable and no one is going to be able to say one is"better" than the other at the track. A spring is a spring both these brands won't break or anything. Eibach does measure more accurately or more close to their advertised rates than most other brands.

One of the calibration variables for MSRC is ride height. So it can have an effect if the system is not re calibrated .

When you lower any vehicle and you don't change the spring perch to preserve travel you are losing travel and you are going to be hitting the bump stops more than if you did not lower the vehicle. As a result all lowering springs are stiffer which is more of a necessity.

These springs for you will increase the stiffness of the ride period. A stiff ride does not mean it is better. An oversimplification is without aero or a stickier tire you are giving up mechanical grip when you increase spring stuffness. I think that if you want the car lower, these lowering springs are the most economical way to do that. Personally I will never run "lowering" springs ever.

1. Have not tracked mine yet so dont know. Have Eibachs.
2. I dont have the Mag option so dont know.
3. My installer did something, not sure what except that I pointed out to him that the tech did not mark the assembly for reinstall. This was enough for him to say he will re-do it. Just left front, the boot is crushed on bottom possibly causing my lift sensors to have bad readings. Getting a new lower actuator/strut/sensor (all 1 unit) hoping free from dealer thru warranty. Will find out if it is free in the next 3-4 days.
4. Far as ride goes, it is hardly noticeable unless you live on a dirt road or have really bad surfaced streets where you are. Not sure if your asking if it bottoms out? If so, not I, Feels pretty good but the lowering is significant as far as where it scrapes by alot lol...scrapes my brake ducts if i go over the same speed bumps in my neighborhood over 5 mphs hour and it didnt even come close prior to swap.

Going over this whole thread, some pretty go info on here.

I wonder why Eibach choose to have the front springs progressive, but Paragon/Hyperco has rear springs as progressive? does anyone know?

I have Paragon/Hyperco now thinking about making the change.
