The front calipers and hardware pictured above look very similar to ZL1 calipers. I would wonder how similar they are?
This may be a silly question as well, but would a rotor for the larger ZO7 brake package ever be offered (aftermarket) in a iron version in lieu of a CC rotor as an alternative for someone that either preferred iron or to save money on replacements but still retain the bigger diameter?
Yes, Girodisc makes the Z07 rotor in steel. I thought about it but was concerned with the 19" rim.

The wife was over in Ft. Myers this week and picked up my parts. I have e-brake calipers, e-brake pads, rotors (they are huge), brake lines and shields. Only thing I'm missing are the pin and springs for the e-brake calipers, again why the hell aren't these shipped with the calipers???. I wasn't able to order before, will check again. I may pull the rear wheel off my car to see if somehow the base C8 stuff might work. Honestly, I'm not hopeful. This my slow down the install.
I need to get more fluid and find some instruction on bleeding the brakes. I did buy a pressure bleeder some time ago but have never used it so need to research that as well.
Bleeding the brakes is simple. Biggest thing is make sure you disconnect the battery. Then swap over all your calipers, I just left the old ones hooked up and rested on a box or piece of wood until all new hardware was in place then swapped over the lines as last step. Bleeding is simple with a pressure bleeder, but I always prefer to do so with two people. One making sure the bleeder maintains pressure and the other cracking the bleeder screws. Start with farthest from master (rear passenger) and work your way to the closest. I run about 1.5L through the rears with almost all of that going through outside bleeders and then just a small amount through inside bleeder. Make sure to relieve pressure in the pressure bleeder by loosening cap before unscrewing when done. I generally put cardboard down in engine bay and put bleeder bottle on that in case of any leaks. I just did these recently, was hoping to potentially do Z06 but ended up deciding on 18" front wheels for track so those were a no go. Might want to consider stainless lines since you have to swap them anyway.
@mikegr Thank you, sir. That was the way I did it last time I bled brakes,, 100 years ago LOL. I watched one video where the guy said I need a laptop with GM software, go figure. I did look for SS lines and couldn't find any specific for the C8 Z06 brakes. I suspect someone has put a set together using existing stuff, I'm just not aware of specifics. That said, I have less than $100 in the factory lines as they were pretty cheap if I replace at a later date.
I did order e-brake pins and springs yesterday,,, don't know why these particular parts irritate me so much.

I would think for lines the z51 ones would work, shouldn’t be any difference in the banjo connecting to the back of the caliper and they will route the same as the lines you have on the car if you wanted to go that route.I am using spiegler lines with the AP stuff
@X25 attached is the spreadsheet I've put together. I'm all in for $5,273.52 with taxes and shipping. Keep in mind, I saved a fair amount (as noted in yellow) ordering via https://parts.gmparts.com/ over the holidays with their 20% off sale. In using that site, you have to find a local dealer that's selling the parts at a reasonable price as opposed to MSRP. Prices vary wildly from dealer to dealer so look around. I could have saved another $300 if I'd ordered the calipers from there. I don't believe they do shipping there but you'll pay tax.
A word of warning. I haven't installed anything as of yet and the part numbers are correct to the best of my knowledge, although I question my knowledge from time to time.
Fricking e-brake caliper pin kits. This was response I got from a reliable online seller I've bought quite a few parts from after ordering yesterday. As a sidebar, https://parts.gmparts.com/ GM's online parts house doesn't even show a pin kit and doesn't list 13553891.
Thank you for choosing GMPartsDirect.com and placing your 1490554 with us.
This order is on hold awaiting your response.
Part number 13553891 is currently on back order from GM and it has been removed from your order. GM does not have an ETA for the part to be released off back-order.
I'd guess that those pin kits would be compatible across models, and you should be able to use it from your base/Z51 e-brake caliper.Looks like they don't sweep the whole rotor anyway, and the only difference is their offset due to rotor diameter differences across models. I bet the pads would be same, too.
So did a bit of research this morning. I can't seem to find any aftermarket e-brake pin kits for the Z06. That said, Dynamic Friction Disc 340-16007 is made for the base and Z51(and 1000 other cars) and at $22 shipped is worth a try. Note also both sides included for $22 unlike GM.
The rotor on the Z06 appears to be about 8-10MM wider than the base and Z51 which may present some issues. The pins in all the pictures I see look to run long so they may be finei, not so sure about the spring. We'll see.
I'm afraid not. Working on gate openers so we can park cars under the house. Probably a week left to finish things up and paint. I did get TPMS sensors in, so wheels and tires next, BC forged with 275/30/19 front 325/30/19 rear. Still waiting on Speedway to dyno shocks and test springs, when done, Z51 shocks with Z06 springs. Then the brakes. Got a bit to do LOL.
@Cerulaen Sorry,, missed your last post. I haven't started on the brakes yet. Just finished up painting boomerangs and screwing up the front grill bezels. There are a couple of other things first I'm afraid but it will happen. As a sidebar, I scored a set of 25mile OEM Z06 pads in the for sale section at a great price. May go ahead and sell the CarboTechs.
@gtpvette Thank you for the update! Completely understand you have other priorities.
I keep asking as my only concern is if they will fit properly on a Z51 C8. The feel, etc. are all subjective, so that doesn't concern me as much.
@Cerulaen There's a guy who has a Z06 that is swapping Z51 brakes on it so it'll clear 18" drag wheels. So, my swap in reverse so to speak, although I only have base brakes. Not sure when he's doing the swap. @123sugey
