Default Attn. Base Model Only C8 Owners...

If you have a base model C8, (non Z51 or Convertible) and you're interested in a set of our 50 State legal long tube headers, ARH has an amazing deal you can take advantage of for just a limited time with limited quantities. Please don't hesitate to reach us at 631-608-1986 or email me directly at nick@americanracingheaders.com for more information. This deal is too good to pass up and only applies to base model C8 owners. Thanks!

Nick

I'm intrigued what ARH is up to and what makes the base model unique here!

Cryptic post. There is no difference in headers from the base Stingray to the Z51. I don't get it.

Combatninja,

Yes, there is a difference. We made a slight change to the original design for the Z51 and convertible models. Our base model C8 headers currently available are made for base model cars exclusively.

Yeah.....I knew the details per conversation with Nick. But I knew he would acknowledge as he did here. Just out of respect, I didn't want to jump the gun on a prominent company especially with inaccurate information.

Exact same exhaust system, engine etc, what possible difference or what change was made for the base stingray coupe that would not or did not work on the Z51 coupes????

I have these on my car. The first run of headers were based on the nonZ model and it was later learned that the Z51 car with it's extra radiator needed more clearance (convertible for it's reasons too). The tubes are the same, just tucked ever so slightly closer to the engine. I hope I recalled this correctly and this clears up confusion.

A great deal for those that can use them !!!

The ARH headers that have been produced the last few years for the C8 stingray and Z51 cars now all of a sudden do not fit the Z51 cars?? doesnt make sense. If the current base model C8 headers are for base cars only, are you saying that now the base model headers are different from the from what has been made up till now that fit the base car and the Z51 car?

Hey Snowblind, I have been thinking about ARH headers a lot and your positive input since day one about them keeps me wanting them. Can you tell me what the sound difference was if you did headers only? I have a base car and a Non NPP car and it is too quiet, did headers change that?

Hey, was their a sound difference, yes. Was it as loud as I expected, no. I think if you are in it for Only the sound then maybe a high flow cat would be the route to go, you just won't get the performance out of it like you would the headers.
The price of these headers I think are a no-brainer for a base model owner and put the rest of the money you saved into the cats... best of both worlds, sound and power.

I may be letting the cat (no pun intended) out of the bag but somebody has been beta testing these puppies and a sound bite is coming soon. Very muscle car era sound in my opinion.

Looks like ARH is coming around to the party after initially downplaying cats... It appears they made the correct choice in cores, as well.

Well considering Snowblind ran 10.20 at 133 through the factory cats, I'd say most have a long way to go before expecting a cat swap to make a solid difference in performance. Snowblind is on another level and on a mission for a high 9 second pass. If the cats add minutia, it's minutia he didn't have before. If it's more than that, considering he's increased power exponentially, I'm sure he'll let us know. My stance on cats was based on being honest with what we saw. I have no desire to profit from anything that isn't on par with the expectations of the end user. Maybe I'm wrong but that's not how we operate.
