Default PTR Carbon intake vs standard oem ported

Any reason for me to spend the extra bucks on the ptr other than cool look factor?

Well.....it's not proven on the track unless somebody chimes in about it. Dyno results seem to vary on the C8s. The fastest C8s running the 1/4 do not have that particular intake on their cars. I did the OEM ported intake manifold, 87mm ported throttle body, attack blue filter and had a improvement at the track last Thursday. You won't see hardly nothing on the dyno....maybe 10 rwhp or so. But I definitely can feel a difference on the bottom end and by the reading of my time slip.
Not so much at top.

I have it and like it, no Dyno sheets. I guess it's personal preference. Paragon performance is supposed to release a dyno test of that intake soon.

Ive run it and it made around 5 to 8 hp over the socal ported manifold with 91 eff tb. It's not a great bang for the buck as far as power adding. Reduced 60-130 by about 0.5 sec

depends on the type of racing you are doing if you are on a road course.500 60-130 on a track which has 2 long straights could equal 1.0 seconds per lap which is significant. Once again it depends on end use.

Very interesting! I'm also running the SoCal Porting ported intake manifold (the first LT2 he did). On the cold side, I have it paired with a Soler Performance ported throttle body and full aFe intake system.

I think for the dollar that's about the best set up.

Yeah I believe that's probably how I learned about it reading your posts. Not to be a downer but for me I had trouble seeing much of any gains doing the socal ported and 91mm eff. The 60-130 were within error deviance. I had stock intake on the car though.

Ptr uses 95mm standard tb. If you want Soler you can get the 95mm they call 100mm effective because they smooth it. It still measures 95mm just like their 91 effective still measures 87mm. I have 91 eff for ported stock manifold and 100 eff for ptr.

The one I bought...
