Default To replace Corvette C8 coolant

Hello!

I want to replace coolant (DEX-COOL : water = 40 : 60) of my corvette C8.

Could you please let me know how much liquid is required for the replacement?

According to C8 manual, Engine Cooling System with Performance Package is 21.5 Liter (=22.7 qt, engine cooling system capacity values are based on the entire cooling system and its component).

Considering the remaining liquids on the bottom of car, it may be around 20 liter.
However, it is still too much comparing to other cars.

Do I really need 20 liters of 40% Dex-Cool coolant (= 8 liter of Dex-Cool & 12 liter of water)? Please help me!

Thank you!

Think of all the coolers, radiators, and hoses. Coolant is running the entire length of the vehicle. With that said, you're not going to be able to drain it all. The factory coolant is a long-life product and there's no reason to change it unless it became contaminated.

It's PIA, there is a way to do it, you will have to remove the inner fender on the passenger side rear, and both covers in the front of the front wheels, there are petcocks on all the radiators. filling is worse. do a search on google. lets just say its a process....

Thank you, Kracka!

According to Corvette C8 manual, coolant needs to be changed at 150,000 miles.

My 2022 Corvette C8 (about 2,000 miles so far) has not been driven for the last 5 months and it was in a container for 1 month to cross the Pacific Ocean.
Therefore, I thought about to replace all possible liquids in the car including engine oil (and its filter), DCT mission liquid (and its filter), coolant, and brake liquid.

If it was my car I would not replace all of the fluids, perhaps just the oil and filter. Five months is not that much longer than winter storage in some areas. Just my opinion.

With that in mind, I would change the engine oil & filter along with the brake fluid. The DCT fluid and coolant are perfectly fine.

Thank you, dhanley!
I see. You mean that replacing engine oil and its filter will be enough, right?

Agreed. You can actually just check the DIC and see what it says.

There are time limits on the fluids in the manual. I would assume those are specifically for the case where the car has not been driven very much. Those times are 3 years for transmission fluid, 1 year for motor oil, and 6 years for coolant. So, I don't see reason for changing sooner other than bumping up against the mileage requirements or when the oil life monitor or fluid life monitor says to change it. Unless there something about the container environment that you think would cause faster deterioration.

Or every 5 years, whichever comes first.
