Default C8 overheating

I picked up my white 70th anniversary convertible this past weekend and drove her home 904 miles from Albuquerque to Houston. When I pulled into my driveway and shut off the jewel I heard the antifreeze boiling in the radiator/ overflow for two or three minutes. When I restarted her, I smelled antifreeze.
Has anyone else had this problem?

206 degrees
Was generally running at 188 to 190 beforehand.

206F is far from overheating. Overheat warning comes on at 256F. Most of the GM gas engines in their other cars/trucks run 195-210F.

That said, take it in and let the dealer figure it out. They can pressure test the cooling system.

Mine usually stays at 175/80ish normally, up to around 200ish if it's hot out and/or I'm playing with it. No problems so far 🤞

The car makes a lot of noise after shutting down. Pops, tick rushing noises, etc. Not sure that what you are hearing is anything but normal. Did the fans come on high after shutting down? Also normal. The only thing is the antifreeze smell. Like was said above, 206 is not a high temperature. Plain water doesn't even "boil" at sea level until 212 degrees.

If you want to hear something scary. Drive a new diesel Tahoe. It makes even more strange noises, grill louvers opening and closing, noises of valves, fluid rushing. I keep waiting for it to turn into a Transformer or Decepticon.

When delivered new, the car also has other odors - some describe as a smell of maybe burning plastic.

The vehicles have afterrun pumps to circulate if needed. Normal noises. Youd have seen an overheat warning if you had overheated

I pulled off the coolant cap before starting the 23. Plenty of pressure and it looked full. Definitely boiling going on inside the radiator after hot shut off. Some left on my driveway. Smell of antifreeze inside the cabin after nailing it a few times is what concerned me. Wish I knew of a competent Corvette mechanic in the Houston area.
Thanks for your help men.
