I have the same problem. 2022 C8 Z51 w/Carbotech XP10 part# CT28951R-XP10. I don't feel this is correct. It will wear the outer edge of the rotor unevenly. Taking them off. They also rattled because they're not seated.
I get your sarcasm, but it is annoying to pay significantly more for these pads than their competition and yet have something as obviously incorrect as these are. Have you purchased these pads? If so I suspect you will be annoyed as well if they start squealing due to the improper fitment.
I am not trying to start a flame war. It is just that you expect high quality when paying premium prices, especailly from a well established company with a good reputation.
I'm annoyed by this as well. Doesn't matter if it's expensive or not. It should fit. How can you put trust in a company that blows off one of their products that's flawed as "it doesn't fit right but it should be fine". Brakes are one of the most important aspects of a performance car. If your attitude of this is ah, it'll be fine even though it doesn't fit makes you wonder about the rest of their products.
I think they need to:
1) either remove some pad material to match the rotor or change the metal back plate design so the pad sinks deeped into the center of the rotor
2) add that spring to prevent the pad from sloping around and making noise.
I asked them directly if they would be changing the rear pad shape to address the overhang problem and the response I received is “No sir, no changes.”
That tab is the wear indicator; it makes contact with the rotor and starts squealing when the pads are worn. It has nothing to do with the retaining the pad. If the pads do not have a backing plate/shim, i.e., Carbotech then Girodisk Ti shims will quiet them down a bit (and prevent heat transfer to the caliper).

+1 for the girodisc shims. I use them on my endless pads.
