Hello Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has taken their C8 out for a standing mile race, and what speeds is it running in stock form? I have just sold my supercharged C5 that was running 198 mph in the mile and 208 mph in the 2K. And I have purchased a C8 1LT with mag ride and active exhaust. I am curious what to expect when I take it out to the track. It is my daily driver, so it will remain stock, but I thought it would be fun to try it out in the standing mile. Of course, I realize that it will be slower than my last car. Thanks for the input.
If you had a C5 that was brushing 200mph, prepare to be....disappointed. C8 gearing is ridiculous with 5 overdrive gears and they just fall on their faces after 3rd gear. You'll need forced induction to power through the terrible gearing.

169MPH in the mile for a stock, 495HP car isn't horrible. Not great, mind you, and again shows the weakness of the transmission ratios that GM chose. Would have been nice to see a number in the 17x range.
I have ran car up to 171 and 168 a couple times. None were mile based events, but can say the C8 gets to 160mph fairly easy. After that, you’re slowly climbing, but still climbing. I had windows down, windows up with top off, and then everything closed. Obviously, buttoned up tight was the faster run. Top off and windows down was severe buffeting. Top off and windows up wasn’t too bad, but still had to hang onto your sun glasses. For what it’s worth. 🤙. 198 in your C5 was awesome. So close to 200.
