Default Buying a second engine for a build

Is there any reason this wouldn't work to have it built with forged internals and swap into my C8?

The only weird thing about this seller is that they have another motor, with valve covers but it has a cracked oil pan and it’s twice the price.

seems odd but that’s a good deal

I've bought alot from pacific motors and no problems. There was 125 6.2's after the tornado damaged ones. Even though this says 2020 it could very well be one of the 22's with zero miles on it.

After looking closer at the listing I would bet money that's it a new 22 from the tornado damaged ones. I won't even say how many thousands I've spent at stickers, Nordstroms, pacific motors, and Spaulding auto. They have all the factory ones but are getting pretty picked over. The parts are great new take offs.

I'm going to pull the trigger and buy one. I don't know when I will get it built but I'll have it when I'm ready.

The factory salvage ones weren't flood cars.

It looks like Eric from CSP grabbed one of the long blocks listed. His post claims the only have idle time. Pretty awesome for the price.

These guys have been around for quite a while and have a decent reputation. They are a pretty big place and wouldn't risk their reputation selling junk.

Hey, that's me. Lol

I am not sure these engines are from the tornado damaged cars.
I'll have to check but at some point the injector size changed and along with it the physical injector bore size.

I purchased "serial #1" that didn't have valve covers or a crank pulley and its near spotless. The oil pan had obviously been removed and whoever reapplied the sealant went a little nuts. I removed the pan to inspect and it looks new. I cleaned up the mess of sealant and popped the pan back on just yesterday.

Hey Eric thanks for chiming in. 😁 I purchased serial #10. It should ship to me this week.

With the injector change does that mean 20-21 injectors won’t fit the 22 or newer heads?

That is correct the injectors are not interchangeable.
If you are installing into a car that's to be tuned the older larger injectors are more desirable anyway and can even be swapped out for LT4 injectors.

I checked and the heads on the engine I purchased take the older larger diameter injectors.
I believe these are all early 2020 engines.

That's good news, no messing around to get bigger injectors to work.

Sooooo, what are you planning to do with that second engine?

My engine arrived. One day shipping from Michigan. I'll take more pictures once I get it unwrapped.

Nice, my engine arrived just as quickly. I'm curious if it just as clean. My intake valves and spark plugs were spotless!
