Automatic transsmission filter housing DCT filter
Hi ,
I have a 2023 corvette, took car to a chevy dealership to have the first oil filter and dct filter replaced. The technician broke a bolt off when removing the cover from the filter housing. They drilled the bolt out and have ordered a new automatic transmission filter housing part # 24048638 . Has anyone replaced the filter housing and how difficult is it to replace .Can a regular mechanic do the work ,or does this need to be certified corvette mechanic to replacice the filter housing . Thanks

I could not find a procedure for replacement of the housing in the version of the Service Manual that I have (2020). It looks like it my be easy for a competent tech following instructions in the manual including torque specs - if there is a procedure. The tech that broke of your bold may not fit that description.

If I did not have to twist the cover to loosen and remove it, I would put studs into the housing.
Ask the mechanic doing the work if he has a torque wrench and the torque specs for this job. Ask him to write the specs down for you.
