The C8 does not have replaceable headlight bulbs, they are sealed LED units. If one of yours has gone out, that is a warranty replacement item.

The headlamp assembly is replaced as complete unit. It contains headlight leveling motors, a little cooling fan, LED lighting, LED drivers and an internal control module.

And to answer your question about what has to come off, its the front facia. Looks like the tub is not disturbed.

When these fail it's usually the driver on the back of the headlight. Unfortunately you can't buy that separate from GM. Check on eBay for a used damaged headlight. I've sold several from part outs for just the driver but don't have any left.

So they can be disassembled then? Some refer to them as being "sealed". But I noted that they have a cooling fan - or at least that is what shows in the schematic. Which made me think they might be vented. Are they?

It's a heat sink on the lamp driver remove 4 screws and pull it up. The driver is removable with the headlight assembly out. I'm not sure why GM doesn't offer this part separate.

Also FYI if you have front lift the headlight assemblies are different but the drivers should be the same.
